(being) a multiplicity
Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen
(being) a multiplicity consists of performative works by Danish artist Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen which are connected to earthly processes and geological collaborations, positioning our awareness towards time and movement within matter. As an installation it focuses on a sensory approach and understanding of environmental urgencies departing in the relational. Through listenings, movements, tactile and aural experimentation, ideas connected to composite existence will be unfolded in the gallery space as registrations, drawings, scores and notations, sound, video, and performance art.
The works and processes featured are all departing in materials from fieldwork and artistic residencies in the Nordic countries connected to the locality of the Kimitoön area, here presented as dynamic spatial propositions. They are thus reflections and resonances coming from other places which are reactivated and connected to the framework of Kulturhus Björkboda; as a transdisciplinary composition which is driven by the dynamics of the multiple – of being a multiplicity – always more than one!
(being) a multiplicity includes an opening performance which activates the gallery space and completes the installation, taking place on September 8th. Additionally, the exhibition will include listening sessions facilitated by the artist, in and around Kulturhus Björkboda. These sessions will take place on September 30. and October 22., starting on both dates at 13.00. On September 30. there will additionally be added materials to the installation as a performative gesture departing directly from the listening session.
